Pimp Your Life (2006)
In the age of genetic engineering and state-of-the-art technology, artificially creating humans - or cloning - has become reality.
Our passion and yearning for eternal youth and our desire for omnipresence have led us into a world of multiple forms of consumption, one that provides endless ways of copying. We want to be a star too, and create our own perfectly ingenious world.
"Pimp Your Life" approaches this scenario in a humorous manner.
Set in the near future, in a time when cloning technology has reached perfection, Clone Deluxe introduces us to the marvelous technology of human cloning. The uniqueness of human beings has long since become defunct. Technology is not only a consumer good; it also integral to ideology, to a new social order.
"Pimp Your Life" combines dance and video by allowing for an (inter)action of “real performing bodies” with the filmic projections of bodies. In this way, dance in film is hybridized with film in dance.
